Don’t Ever Wipe Tears Without Gloves (original title: Torka aldrig tårar utan handskar) is a 2012 mini series on (SVT) in Sweden.
The show is based on the Swedish novelist Jonas Gardell’s novel Love, which would be the first piece of the trilogy, Love. Disease. Death.
The story is about the struggle the gay community had during the rise of the AIDS epidemic and how society and the families of those who were affected refused to accept it.
It’s taken a while, but BBC4 are about to start screening an English subtitled version of it tonight, which hopefully means a translation of Jonas Gardell’s novels will be appearing in bookshops soon.
The show will also be available on iPlayer.
